The 21 jewel 1888 American Grade is very similar to the 21 jewel Riverside Maximus. It is somewhat more scarce. It is much more scarce than the 19 jewel version. However, it lacks the distinctive winding wheels of the 19 jewel version. This example has a dial that is double sunk and very similar to the Riverside Maximus dial. These are also found with the old English style dial that is seen on the 19 jewel example in the collection but I think this dial may be original.
