Front, Dial, Back, Case mark, Cuvette, Cuvette mark, Movement, Movement edge view, Movement edge view 2, Dial edge view (glass enamel)

This example was once a very beautiful watch and it is still quite nice even with the damage to the dial.  The signature is especially nice, but the damage is too great for any reasonable restoration. The recording register is particularly interesting with the very thick side tooth gear that remains engaged as the mechanism is lifted and lowered by the conical gear/pinion. The case is a good 14K Waltham case. These pictures are of the watch with no restoration at all, not even cleaning.

The serial number 3,126,714 identifies the watch as Riverside grade made between August and November 1887 in a run of 500 pieces. Numbers 3,126,001 to 3,127,700 are all listed a chronographs in Riverside and Am'n grade, both open face and hunting style. The frosted damaskeening on this example is typical of the Riverside grade. However, the dial would more commonly be found on the Am'n grade.
