This nice example of the 1908 Vanguard is in a solid 14K gold case. It is pendant set with a very stylish skeleton dial. The dial could possibly be a reworked radium dial since both the numerals and the hands are also used with radium phosphorescent filling

It has the Ohlsen patent regulator and also Fitch's patent one piece click. The serial number is 20,048,305 with a date of around 1910 to 1912. It is a 19 jewel Vanguard rather than the much more common 23 jewel (2,900 vs. 132,650).
