Case Front Front Inside Case Back Back Mark Cuvette Cuvette Mark

This is the "standard' high grade 1873 model. It would only need a gold train to be a truly high grade watch. The gold train had been introduced in the highest grades about 10 years before this watch was produced. The case is also a beautiful example of the work of the American Watch Co. case department in New York City. It is interesting to compare the damascening on this example with the example cased as open face. Although not as elaborate as the 1872 models, they are quite distinct and were obviously finished by hand.
