This watch is interesting because of the special setting mechanism. The small knob near the pendent can be slid downward toward the 3:00 position to release the crown which springs up. This allows the hands to be set. Pushing down on the pendent re-latches the locking system and the stem is held in the winding position.
This elegant little mechanism eliminates the need for the troublesome winding detent that is one of the vulnerable points in the winding and setting mechanism.
