American Grade 00 size Model OM

The Waltham American Watch Co. Grade was only applied to two small watches (below 16 size). There are rumors of one or two watches in early models of 10 size, but these have not been seem. The 12 size 1894 Bridge Model is a smaller version of the 16 size Bridge Model. The OM model 00 size watch shown here is probably the most beautiful ladies' watch movement ever made. It is superior in finish to the best of the Waltham 1888 American and Maximus Grades and is only slightly, if any, lower than the 1872 model American Grade.

It is very rare to find these watches in the original case and these 4 examples are no exception. 5511291 is shown on the American Grade pages in full with its custom wristwatch case. I have only personally seen 2 cased examples and one of those was essentially a loose case since the movement had completely rusted.

The OM Model was made in 2 runs; 4,242,001 to 4,243,000 and 5,511,201 to 5,512,000. 3 of these watches are from the second run and one is from the first run.
