The Roth Brothers of New York executed a number of contracts for the U.S. Maritime Commission. I don't know that they actually had a manufacturing facility. Essentially all their clocks and deck watches are conversions from other makers. There are a number of their conversion and contract pieces in the collection.

The certificate on the inside top of the box shows both this sextant and a marine chronometer that they claim to manufacture.
