This Roth Brothers signal room clock was made under their contract with the War Department at the beginning of WWII. As with most of their production it is adapted from an existing Elgin 8 day movement that was modified for this application. The winding was changed to wind from the front, through the dial and the regulator was extended to be used through a slot in the dial.

The Elgin 8 day movement is interesting in its own right with the double barrel power has a small barrel shaped wheel that may also have a small mainspring in it. If anyone knows the actual operation, I would appreciate a description.
