The case on this watch is one of the examples from the 1903 brochure. The earliest cases are distinguished by not having the circular logo on the cuvette. They do have the Howard mark in the back cover. Otherwise, this is a reasonable quality example of the 17 jewel split plate Keystone Howard. The checkerboard damascening designates the higher grade of the 17 jewel split plate referred to as the series 9.
