The 19 jewel grade 201 is Elgin's highest grade 0 size watch along with the companion open face grade 205. The final run of grade 201 contains watches engraved Frances Rubie, presumably to commemorate the early 10 size Frances Rubie lady's watch.

These are very highly finished watches with gold gear trains and dished and polished winding wheels. They do not have the characteristic daisy engraving on the balance cock but they do have the word adjusted engraved on the balance cock in a curved banner. This artifice also seems to be reserved for higher grade watches.

This example with serial number 8019336 is from the middle of the 5,000 grade 201 produced between 1898 and 1911.
