This movement is actually listed in Jagger's Supplement on the Barrauds as a different watch with two barrels, etc. He had never actually seen this watch, and remarked that the listing in the book was suspect. For many years I thought this watch was a simple lever until I noticed my friend John Wilson selling an example on eBay as a Savage 2 pin. On seeing that, I pulled off the balance cock and discovered that this example was a Savage 2 pin also. There are pictures of the fork and roller for both this example and the very early example on the page on the Savage escapement. |
