This just a dial, but it is interesting for a couple of reasons. The first observation is that it has a non-fractional number associated with 41 Cornhill. The second oddity is that it has flat tab dial feet made to be attached with screws through the side of the pillar plate. The question is, "Can the dial be dated?" The number would be correct for a watch from the 1800 time frame but the use of a street number is from 75 years later date than that. In any case the serial number would place it earlier than the verge with number 2432 which seems to be a real stretch. It could also be from the period after the 3rd series when Barraud reverted to simple serial numbering, but that would place it much later than the 41 Cornhill address. By the turn of the century the firm was at 14 Bishopsgate. I suppose it will remain a mystery. Other possibilities are that it was commissioned as a replacement dial but was not used or maybe that it is a 3rd series dial, but for some reason the fractional number was left off.
