Brockbanks Peto Cross Detent

This watch was apparently made for export to the United States. The case is not hallmarked and the name Nyork appears on the inside of the case. It is also odd that the watch has a simple flat hairspring and a plain uncompensated balance. Still it does have the Peto cross detent escapement and is signed Brockbanks. The watch appears to have been made as thin as possible for the period and that may be the reason the helical hairspring and compensated balance were dispensed with.
