Paul Ditisheim was a major force in horology in the early 20th century. He was responsible for the introduction of modern oils in both Switzerland and the United States and was an early proponent of the new temperature compensating alloys.

This watch features a Guillaume balance with Ditisheim's affix for fine adjustment of the temperature compensation.
