The most interesting of the American Swiss companies is Gruen. I have been interested in these for quite a while and was especially interested in obtaining an example of the Dietrich Gruen. Gruen was largely responsible for the general theme of marketing and sales of watches in the United States after the turn of the 20th century. Their advertising campaigns paved the way for consumer level marketing by all the watch companies. The watches in the collection are representative of the range they produced in pocket watches.
