Front, Dial, Back, Case mark, Cuvette, Cuvette mark, Movement Vacheron & Constantin remains one of the top Swiss watchmakers. The firm has been involved in the American market since the mid 19th century. This example is a recent thin model. There has been a long standing competition between Swiss makers to produce very thin high grade watches. Most makers "cheat" a little by using a smaller movement and thinning the case down to the edges. This example by V&C uses a very large movement and actually is in a drum style case. This watch had a bit of dial damage to the edges, but is still quite reasonable. There is also a protective screw missing that screws into the bottom plate of the movement to protect the balance from being damaged if the case is squeezed. |
