The grade 410 is one of the highest grades produce by the Illinois Watch Co. It is very similar to the larger Sangamo Special 23J models.

This particular example is a model 4 and has the lowest production of the grade. It also does not have the specified "Jeweled Barrel" notation on the pillar plate between the bridges nor the corresponding visible jewel on the barrel.

The serial number of this example is 3,538,069 and it is from the 3rd of 4 runs made in 1919. The total production of this model and grade was 140. The total of all models and grades of the 410 was 4,580. Most of these are the model 5 open face with 2,700 made. The model 6 hunting case movements were sold with and without a conversion dial having no seconds bit. The total production of model 6 was 1,000. There may be some confusion in one run of model 5/6 that was 600 watches total. So the model 5/6 numbers could be off by as much as 300 watches. The model 3 open face was produced in 740 units.  In any case all the grade 410 are scarce and they were Illinois finest watches at the time they were made (including all the railroad watches).
