960 for W. A. G. Smith

This watch is a nice original example of an early Hamilton bridge model. According to the Hamilton records, this example was probably made in 1899. There is a note from Col. Townsend's studies that watches at this time were mostly private label examples for Webb C. Ball and Ezra F. Bowman. The notes show a shipment of watches for Smith and Plath in New York, but that is not likely to have any relation to this watch for Smith in Rockland, Mass.

The watch is in what appears to be its original 14K case by the Roy Watch Case Co.
