Horological Models

This is a group of 4 models that were used for training and or display.

The large escapement model is signed N. E. Bradley and I think it was used at the Bradley Institute, perhaps in a class taught by Charles DeLong.

The two smallest models were given to me by a former employee of Waltham and I think they may have been used by the engineering department to study escapement angles. They have no balance wheel. You turn the knob and perform the balance wheel motions with your fingers. The model with the dial has a small watch movement set into a stand. The movement is not connected to the model.

The more complete watch model was made by a craftsman in Philadelphia in 1901.

Click on any of the models for a closeup of the model or click on the background for a large view of the group.
