These tools seem to be typical of the many varied tools that DeLong made in his work. He had a great talent for visualizing what tool was needed to perform any particular job and then crafting the tool in a very short period of time.
Both of these tools were given to Pat Caruso by an unknown collector in the Midwest as thanks for some work that Pat did for them. Pat, knowing of my interest in DeLong and the McIntyre/DeLong connection, gave them to me.
Only one of the tools is signed although both are typical of DeLong's small tools. Unfortunately, I have no idea of their original intent. One appears to be a concentric cutter of some kind and the other a device for manipulating or measuring hairsprings.
