Fred McIntyre Memorabilia

Fred kept memorabilia from his career in watchmaking and his son Donald maintained the material also. There is no documentation on any of the items, but some things can be inferred from the items themselves. I found these two items particularly interesting. The movement is an incomplete jeweled wind indicator that has some similarities to the wind indicator mechanism in the McIntyre Watch Co. watch. My theory is that it was an unsuccessful prototype of the McIntyre Watch. The small desk clock is a lever set hunting case watch by J. J. Badollet that has been mounted as a desk timepiece. Scratched on the base is "Cleaned by Fred McIntyre, 2/10/46." You can click on either of these thumbnails to go to the page with detailed pictures and more discussion of each piece.
