This engraved disk with Fred's portrait was made as a gift to Fred or perhaps Lola Mcintyre in 1908 near the start of the McIntyre Watch Factory operations. Charles DeLong was a very accomplished engraver. According to Chamberlain, at one time very early in his career he found he could make more money engraving portraits on watches than on making and repairing watches. Since he did not want to be an engraver, he curtailed this work to leave time for the work he really loved.
