Illinois Stuart 5th Pinion

The Stuart was Illinois highest grade among the early gilt movements. By rights, it should be more collectable than the similar Bunn models. However, the predominance of the Bunn and Bunn Special among the later models has eclipsed the Stuart somewhat.

This example has the 5th pinion feature that moves the location of the seconds bit from the hunting case 3:00 position to the 6:00 position appropriate for an open face case.

This example is, I believe, in its original Ladd Patent case.
