| The Bridges of Middlesex County This is a presentation on the Waltham bridge model watches and the transfer of this technology to the E. Howard Watch Company. It is likely that Waltham originally contracted with E. Howard and Company to provide a follow on to the Split plate models of the 1890's. When E. Howard and Company decided to sell off the rights to the watch lines, the contract with Waltham went along with it. Waltham continued to supply movements to the new E. Howard Watch Company subsidiary of the Keystone Watch Case Co. These included the bridge models originally supplied to the predecessor and also some movements based on the Waltham 1899 Equity variant. They also produced a variant of the bridge model produced specifically for the E. Howard Watch Co. which blended with the initial in house designs by the E. Howard Watch Company. After a couple of years the E. Howard Watch Co. produced its own designs based on developments by Freund. These designs eventually produced the unique Edward Howard prestige watches that provided the main competition to the Premier Maximus, which was Waltham's final development of the same bridge model designs.
