Each watch model had a controlling master watch plate. These plates standardized all the positions and holes for a particular watch model. The masters were kept in muslin bags inside a leather case in a locked cabinet. They were only used to check new shop standards.
These examples were, unfortunately, victims of a flood in the basement of the factory in the 1930's.
