Frances Rubie 10 Size KW/KS Frances Rubie is the only high grade small keywind made by the National Watch Co. This watch would have been produced while the company was still the "National Watch Co. of Chicago Illinois" before the change to "Elgin National Watch Co" in 1874. However, the movement is marked Elgin on the barrel bridge so presumably the factory in Elgin was not a secret at that time. This example is in what appears to be an original case with a fake winding knob in the pendant. The dial is marked with the National Watch Co. NWC logo found only on the earliest National Watch Co. watches. |
