The Illini grade 538 seems to be the most common of this series of watches. It and the companion grade 539 are very similar with small differences in the width of the damaskeening pattern and the use of polished steel jewel settings rather than gold jewel settings. Both the grade 538 and grade 539 have brass train wheels.
