The grade 539 Illini Extra is very similar to the grade 538. They are marked with the same adjustments and have the same brass wheels in the gear train. The only visible differences are the width of the damascening bands and the use of a polished steel setting instead of gold for the cap jewel on the escape wheel, And, of course, the appearance of the word "Extra."
