Front, Back, Movement, Dial, Case mark

This 17 jewel open face example of the 1892 model is from a later run and the slightly less elaborate damaskeening and plain dial may indicate that the watch was now becoming a major product and the company was trying to determine how it would fit into the line with the 1883 model that was still in production. Eventually, the Vanguard grade name came to occupy the spot above the Crescent Street grade, which was the highest grade available in the 1883 model.
