Series 5 Cap Jewel

Front, Back, Dial, Case mark, Movement, 2nd view of movement, 3rd view of movement

This Series 5 movement has a cap jewel on the escape wheel instead of a jeweled barrel. This was done about the same time as Howard stopped using safety barrels on all their grades and models. It is generally thought this was a cost reduction, but I know of no documentation for why this was done.
